Day of fun

After a very enjoyable Christmas, I had more fun today with Daddy and Mummy! In the morning, I drove my car, skilfully I must say, around my block.

In the evening, we went to Gymboree. I tried out the hula hoops...

... the slide...

... and the crazy mirror!

Christmas

After the many presents that I received for my past Christmases, I was certainly looking forward to this year's haul! As usual, we went to Grandpa's and Ah Ma's house to celebrate. There was a tall Christmas tree and I had a Santa Claus hat.

See how focused I am on opening my presents:

Lollipop from Santa Claus

Daddy and Mummy decided that they were tired of having dinner at the usual places, so we went to West Coast Plaza today for the first time. Guess what, I met Santa Claus there! He gave me a lollipop, but because it was dinner time, Mummy said that I could eat it only after I finished my food. I held onto the lollipop very tightly while I was eating, as Daddy kept on wanting to steal it from me.

Library

We have been going to the library regularly for some time now, as Daddy and Mummy realised that there wouldn't be enough space in my room to keep all my books. At the library, Mummy usually goes off to borrow books for me and herself. On the other hand, Daddy would sit with me and read whatever books that I imperiously command him to.

Posing for the camera

I was bored this morning and started to play with my shadow. Mummy tried to catch me on video, but I refused to cooperate haha. The minute I saw her whip out her camera, I decided that I would strike a pose for her. Hmm, I didn't quite receive the laughter that I got the last time I did it though.

Barney

Daddy and Mummy brought me to Plaza Singapura yesterday and today to watch a Barney show! Baby Bop and BJ were there too, but I don't know who the orange dinosaur is. They only sang a few songs though, as most of the time, they were taking photos with other babies. I also wanted to take a photo, but we arrived at the shopping centre too late to join the queue. So sad!

Chinese book

Daddy and Mummy were each doing their own things, and I decided that I would keep myself busy too. I decided to read on my own the Chinese book that Daddy had been reading to me the past few nights. I though I did rather well, what do you think?

Random Sunday morning

Sunday mornings are usually a time for us to laze around and spend time together doing random things. This morning, I played with Lego...

... as well as stickers. Do you like my new earring?

Christmas tree

We always go to Grandpa's and Ah Ma's house for Christmas lunch and dinner, and there's always a big Christmas tree in their house. This year, Mummy asked if I wanted to help Grandpa decorate the tree, and I readily agreed.

We went to their house this afternoon, where Grandpa had already taken out the tree and Christmas decorations from the storeroom. After Grandpa had finished putting up the lights, he gave me the go-ahead to hang up Christmas balls, Santa Clauses, snowmen, candy canes, stockings, reindeers etc on the tree. Because I'm so small, I was responsible for decorating the lower parts of the tree, while Grandpa, Ah Ma, Daddy and Mummy did the top. I don't think they appreciate my artistic talent very much though, cos they tried to re-arrange some of the ornaments that I had already hung up.

Halfway through, Mummy saw how much I was fun I was having and wanted to take a video of me decorating the tree. When I saw her whip out her camera phone, I decided to surprise her by striking a pose. Everyone was so amused by me, haha.

Bintan - Day 3

Today's our third and last day at Bintan. In the morning, we went to the beach again after having so much fun yesterday. Daddy was again hunting widlife, but this time he had help from Mummy and I. We caught two crabs, plenty of hermit crabs who are hiding in the sea shells, and one fish. Look at what we caught.

It was soon time for us to check out of the resort and take the ferry home. It's really strange, but I always thought that fairies were small and had wings. However, the ferry that we took was much bigger than me and it travels on water. But I had so much fun anyway on the ride home, and I can't wait for my next holiday.

Bintan - Day 2

We woke up early this morning. During breakfast, we were seated next to the window which was overseeing a fish pond, and I was more engrossed in looking at the fishes than in my food. I think the fishes are tastier, hmm.

After breakfast, we went to the beach again.

Mummy had a lot of fun building me sandcastles, and I had just as much fun destroying them. Look at how I crushed them with my mallet.

Daddy was more interesting in hunting wildlife. He caught a crab for me, and that looked delicious too! He also used my sandcastle pail to catch a lizard. He told me that the lizard had wings and could fly, but I think Mummy thinks that Daddy was talking nonsense.

In the afternoon, we went to a small town to have lunch and do some shopping. The weather was hot, and Daddy and Mummy decided that they would like to have an ice-cream. Naturally I wanted a share of it, and I insisted on holding it myself. It was very yummy, and certainly very messy!

Bintan - Day 1

Remember some time back Daddy and Mummy made a passport for me? Well, we put it to good use today, when we left for Bintan for a short holiday. Our room wasn't ready when we reached the resort in the afternoon, so we spent some time playing at the beach. In the evening after dinner, we decided to explore the place and found a recreation centre a short distance away from the restaurant where we had dinner.

There was a small arcade, where I had the chance to ride a motorbike. Do I look like a hot biker chick?

Daddy and Mummy also tried to play a game of carrom, but they failed to take into account the destructive streak in me, haha!

Twinkle stars

When I was much younger, Daddy and Mummy used to say that I have twinkle toes because they're small and cute. Now that I'm bigger, while I don't have twinkle toes anymore, I can sing twinkle twinkle little stars instead. Isn't this cuter?

Bubble wrap

Mummy brought home a new toy for me yesterday, but I didn't have a chance to play with it until today. Mummy says it's called bubble wrap, but how can they be bubbles when they're not wet and don't burst when I touch them? And it makes a sound when I sit on it or press it!

The big 30

I am officially 30 months old today. We celebrated a few days earlier on Sunday, where I had a nice chocolate cake with a candle and a pink toy motorcycle on top.

Coincidentally, both Ah Ma and I were wearing a pink top that matched my new pink motorcycle.

Playgrounds again

This weekend is really one that has been filled with playgrounds! After playing at 3 playgrounds yesterday, I went to the playground again today on the way to the mrt station. Hmm, if I get to play at the playground everytime we walk towards the mrt station, I think I'd rather take the mrt than have Daddy drive me around.

Playgrounds

I had a good time playing at playgounds today! In the morning, we went to Grandpa's and Ah Ma's house, and I spent some time scampering around the playground at the park opposite their house.

On our way out for dinner, I played for a short while at the playground at the bottom of our flat. Mummy keeps on wondering if I am a girl, as I fearlessly climbed the ladder up to the slide as well as up the slide itself.

At night, on our way home from dinner, we walked past the playground between the MRT station and our house. I was already sleepily sucking my thumb while being carried by Daddy, but I immediately came alive and eagerly ran around the playground.

Nonsense

Mummy always says that Daddy teaches me nonsense. Haha, here is an example of what Daddy asked me to do today.

Sunday night

I usually shower at Ee Ee Rachael's house after dinner on Sundays, in case I fall asleep in the car on the way home. Today, after my shower, Mummy decided that I would look quite cool dressed up in a toga.

After a while, I got tired of being wrapped up like a bak zhang (dumpling), and decided to play with Ee Ee's toy dog instead.

After the bumble bee comes the...

Chicken! After my Shichida class 3 weeks ago where I was a bumble bee, I dressed up as a baby chick today. I liked being a chick, because both the chick-me and the real me love to eat corn.

Sunglasses

Uncle Choon Leng bought me a pair of sunglasses some time ago, but I wasn't able to wear them because they were too large. They're still a bit too big for me though, and Daddy had to use scotchtape to keep them on my face.

HFMD

I had a fever last night, so Mummy gave me some medicine to take before I went to bed. I felt alright when I woke up this morning, but the fever came back in the afternoon. Suspecting something amiss, Daddy and Mummy checked my hands and feet, and found some red spots. They quickly brought me to see Dr Jack, who confirmed that I had hand, foot and mouth disease. I must have gotten it from my friends at school.

I can't go to school for the next two weeks, but I don't know whether or not I should be happy or sad. There were many blisters in my mouth, and I couldn't eat, drink or suck my thumb without feeling the pain. On the bright side, I get to spend time with Ye Ye and Nai Nai, who would be fussing over me!

Boy or girl?

My Shichida teacher gave me a cap and a bag of goodies today as a Children's Day present. With my cap worn the other way, Mummy thinks that I look very much like a boy. Do you think so too?

Bumble bee

During my Shichida class today, I had the chance to dress up as a bumble bee. I think I would rather be a busy bee that collects pollen than be an ugly mosquito that bites cute babies like me.

Cousin Matthias

My cousin Matthias, whom I affectionately call Di Di, came back from Shanghai this week for a visit. The last time I saw Di Di was in February, when he was only 3 months old. Now Di Di's almost a year old, and is very active. I had to hold him back so that we could take a nice photo together.

I also enjoyed pushing Di Di around in the bicycle that Ye Ye had bought for me when I was younger.

Mosquitoes

Ever since we started sleeping without the aircon on, I have occasionally been bitten by mosquitoes in the middle of the night. Mummy felt that she needed to give the mosquitoes a warning, and she stuck a number of stickers on me so that the mosquitoes would know that they were in a danger zone if they came near me.

Haircut

Mummy went for a haircut today, and as my hair was also getting long, I had a haircut too. I used to be afraid of sitting on the chair on my own, but today I was happy to let Uncle Calvin snip away. Do I look prettier now?

Chloe's birthday party

Chloe, my friend from childcare, invited me to her house today for her birthday party. It was also a farewell party, as Chloe was going with her Daddy and Mummy to the UK for a year.

I dressed up as Zorro...

...but as I didn't have a beautiful black horse, I rode a colourful plastic scooter instead.

Teachers

Teachers' Day was 2 weeks ago, and I had given each of them a big cookie and a card. Check out the video of me reciting their names.

My soft toys

Grandpa and Ah Ma recently bought a Mickey Mouse soft toy for me, and I have been carrying it where ever I go. I brought Mickey to Ye Ye's and Nai Nai''s house today, where I introduced it to my other soft toys. I have a white puppy that used to belong to Mummy and it even wears a tag with Mummy's name on it.

I also have a big dolphin that is almost as tall as me! It used to belong to Daddy, who got it as christmas present from Ee Por when Daddy was very very small.

Big and bright lanterns

After making our own lantern last week, Daddy and Mummy decided to bring me to see more lanterns at Chinese Garden as part of the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations.

When we first got there, I tried not to be impressed with the bigger and brighter Hello Kitty lanterns.

But there really were many bright and colourful Hello Kitty lanterns around!

We also spotted a sleepy crescent moon, which I thought meant that we had been out too late and that it was past my bedtime, *yawn*.

Tantrum

I wanted to play with Mummy's phone today, but she wouldn't let me as she was afraid that I would delete the photos inside (which I had done before, accidentally). I decided to throw a tantrum, but instead of giving in to me, Mummy enjoyed herself by recording my tantrum.

Daddy, Mickey and I

I didn't go to school today as I wasn't feeling well, so I spent the entire day at Ye Ye's and Nai Nai's house. After I had an early dinner, Nai Nai gave me a shower and dressed me in a set of Mickey Mouse pyjamas. Daddy couldn't resist scooping me up when he saw me and Mickey. Doesn't Daddy, Mickey and I look good together?

Home-made lantern

As part of my homework for school, I had to make a lantern from recycled materials. Daddy and Mummy helped me put together a 3-sided lantern from scrap cardboard, cellophane paper and string.

The first side had a pretty flower. The second side had a dog that looks like the little red dog that Auntie Elayne gave me for my birthday. The third side had a big boat where I can sit and rock and rock and rock to sleep, just like in my bedtime storybook.

Ee Ee Rachael's Birthday

Today was Ee Ee Rachael's 15th birthday, and she had a big party for her family and friends. I didn't manage to help her blow out her candles, but I thoroughly enjoyed eating the birthday cake. Mummy called me an ang zhang mao (dirty kitty), and Ah Ma had to clean me up after I was done eating.

Driving with Barney and friends

Daddy and Mummy brought me out for dinner with their colleagues this evening. Instead of waiting impatiently for the food to arrive, we went out for a walk outside the restaurant, where I spotted Barney, Baby Bop and BJ!

They seemed to be stranded and lost, and I ran up to them and offered to be their driver. Unfortunately the car just couldn't move, and after a while I got bored of playing with them.

Camera phone

I never realised until a few days ago that the camera that Mummy uses to take photos of me can be used as a phone to call Ah Ma as well. Tonight when we went to Ye Ye's and Nai Nai's house for dinner, I noticed that they had a phone next to the sofa. Can I take photos of Daddy and Mummy with it too?

Saturday, August 09, 2008

Sharing clothes with Mummy

We went shopping today after dinner, and Mummy bought some clothes for herself. She offered to let me try it on as well, and I must say that with the added ribbon round my waist, it's quite a nice outfit. Yay, Mummy and I can share clothes next time!

Sunday, July 20, 2008

Down for a swim

We were at Lao Ma's house as usual today, and Daddy and Mummy decided to bring me for a swim before dinner. I wore the swimming costume that Auntie Tracey (Daddy's colleague) gave to me after Eunice (my friend at childcare) outgrew it.

I didn't really swim much today, but I had a lot of fun spashing water at Mummy!

Saturday, July 12, 2008

Ah Ma's birthday

Today is Ah Ma's birthday, and we celebrated it at Lao Ma's house with Ah Ma's brother and sisters. I love birthdays because I get to sing and clap to the birthday song, and blow out candles on the birthday cake.

Mummy wouldn't allow me to help her blow her birthday candles last month, but Ah Ma let me today. I think it's because today is also my 26th month birthday.

Wednesday, July 09, 2008

My new game

I invented my own game today, and just before I went to bed, I decided to show off my new game to Daddy and Mummy.

Watch me topple as I count to ten.

Holiday (Days 2 - 3)

The second day of our holiday was fun-packed as we went to a number of attractions. In the day, we spent some time at Dolphin Lagoon, while we went to catch the show Songs of the Sea in the evening.

We also went to Underwater World, where I had the chance to touch some real live fish.

Our holiday came to an end on the third day, and we had to check out of the hotel room before noon. After we had breakfast, we decided to check out the hotel swimming pool. Watch me have so much fun with Daddy.
