Family Christmas dinner

Christmas is Mummy's favourite time of the year. It is a special time because it's one of the few times that her whole big family - all her uncles and aunties and cousins - gets together to eat and have fun. The party is usually at Grandpa's and Ah Ma's house, but this year it was held at Ee Ee Rachael's house instead.

Look at the spread of food this year:

Here is a photo of my Ah Ma and her three sisters (my three Lao Ees). Ah Ma also has a brother (my Lao Gu), but he is not in the photo.

Oooh, here is my haul of presents from everyone who loves me:

Ee Ee Rachael and I were the only two people who received presents these year, and we eagerly opened our presents. I love reading, and I made Daddy read the Disney book which curly-hair Lao Ee bought for me:

I played with some of my other presents when I got home - The little doggy from Daddy and Mummy, the vacuum cleaner from Gu Gu Jason and Auntie Michelle, the colouring bear from Ee Ee Rachael and her parents, and the dress from Ah Ma and Grandpa:

Christmas morning at Jurong Bird Park

We decided to visit the bird park this morning as Mummy had some free tickets. This is my second visit, but my first visit was so long ago that I hardly remember anything about it.

There were many different types of birds, and I tried to be like a bird too.

Not all the birds were friendly though. The big pelican tried to eat my hand.

The baby penguin was very cute though. Just like me =D

In fact, the penguins were so cute that I wanted to bring one home. And I got my wish! There was a nice lady, who was dressed up as a fairy, who helped me to paint a funky penguin on my arm:

Colour pencil ears

After finishing dinner at Ye Ye's and Nai Nai's house, I sat down in the living room to do some colouring. Daddy watched me for a while as I coloured some pictures but he soon got bored. He then started colouring with me, but also gave up after a while. The next thing I knew, Daddy asked me to look at him. I burst out laughing and demanded that he help me to grow colour pencil ears too. I love my silly Daddy!

Jet plane

My favourite song this past few weeks has been "Leaving on a Jet Plane" and I can sing along during the chorus when Mummy plays the mp3 on her phone. Imagine my joy when we went out for dinner tonight and I saw on the kids menu a set meal that came on a jet plane. I happily ate my food and refused to believe Daddy when he told me that my food was actually on a space shuttle. Daddy tricks me all the time, so he's just trying to bluff me again this time.

Penang

We went to Penang for our final holiday of the year. The beach was right at the door step of our hotel, and Daddy and I picked up many sea shells to give to Mummy as well as to bring home to put in my fish tank.

We also went for a half-day sightseeing tour. The tour guide uncle brought us to a number of famous places, such as a temple which had many snakes, as well as shops where we bought many boxes of tau sar piah and chocolates. He also brought us to a jetty, where he lent me his binoculars to see the boats that were out at sea.

I even saw some monkeys when we stopped at a fruit plantation. The baby monkey was very cute, and the uncle gave us a banana to feed the monkey:

The hotel that we stayed at was a little bit old. But it had a small playground, and as with many of our other holidays, I had a photo taken of me on the swing.

The most special thing that I really liked about this hotel was that I had my own bed! It was very cosy, and Daddy told me that I was very lucky to have a first-class seat. Don't I look very contented with my milk bottle, all snuggled up under the blanket?

Monkey faces

I recently realised how fun and funny it is to make monkey faces when Mummy tries to take photos of me. Here is a collection of some of my best shots:

Bob the Builder

I think Bob the Builder is a handsome man. I also want to be like Bob the Builder, so when Granduncle Michael wanted help to fix his chairs, I readily volunteered.

Stitch

We went to Bugis Junction to do some Christmas shopping today. As we were walked in and out of many shops, I spotted a gigantic Stitch! Maybe this is the Daddy of the baby soft-toy Stitch that I have at home?

Family holiday in Bintan

As Nai Nai often says that we don't bring her along when we go overseas, Daddy and Mummy decided to treat both sets of my grandparents to a short family holiday in Bintan.

This is my third time in Bintan. The first time was with Daddy and Mummy 2 years ago, while the second time was with Daddy's and Mummy's friends last year. I like the beach as it is not very crowded, and there are fishes and baby crabs.

I always make Daddy and Mummy buy ice-cream for me when we eat at Pasar Oleh Oleh.

This time round, instead of staying in a room, we rented a villa so that all of us can stay together in one big house. As the villa was some distance away from the main building, Daddy would drive us around in the buggy.

We spent some time in the activity centre, where Ah Ma taught me to play table tennis.

Daddy took the chance to show off his strong muscles.

I really enjoy going on holidays. You know why? Because Mummy lets me eat a lot of junk food when we are away, yummy!

Favourite things

I miss our flat in Cambridge, where I can just open the door and run out into the playground. There is hardly enough space for me to run about and use up my energy. Daddy and Mummy say that I make too much noise when I am cooped up at home, so we went to Tiong Bahru park today. We go there once in a while, as there is a playground with sand and swings, as well as a pond with tortoises - these are a few of my favourite things!

Rapunzel

Knowing how much I love Disney princesses, Daddy and Mummy brought me to watch the new Rapunzel movie today. Her long golden hair is so pretty, and the thief is so handsome. More handsome than my Daddy I think.

Kiwi bliss

After dinner at Ye Ye's and Nai Nai's house today, Ye Ye cut a bowl of kiwi for me to eat. It was a little bit sour, but I enjoyed sitting on the swing and eating at the same time. Daddy and Mummy say that I look very contented and happy.

While Daddy was away

Since Daddy would be away for so long, I decided that I wouldn't stay at home and pine for Daddy but instead enjoy my time alone with Mummy.

We went shopping for new clothes,

... and we played dressing up as a monkey,

... as well as in my new clothes.

We put together a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle,

... and played hide-and-seek, as well as "you can't see me because I'm under the blanket".

Then we went for dinner along Orchard Road,

... and decorated ourselves for some Christmas cheer. Mummy even made me a red rose ring out of pearls and buttons.

All in all, I had fun with Mummy. I miss Daddy too, and both of us can't wait for him to come back tomorrow!

Bye bye Daddy

Daddy is going overseas for the next 10 days but he is not bringing me with him! I'm going to miss him very very much and I hope that he comes back soon.

As I won't be able to hug and kiss him while he is away, I decided to give him 10 kisses to bring along with him:

Origami

Mummy loved origami when she was young, and her grand-uncle would teach her how to fold things like cranes, horses and frogs. Recently Mummy found her old origami books in Ah Ma's house and she brought them home to share with me.

We made stars and a happy family of ladybirds.

Phuket

Daddy, Mummy and I have been in Phuket for the past 2 days for a short holiday. It's our first time there and there were many things to do.

We played on the beach:

...swam in the pool:

... ate a lot of seafood and ice cream, and drank coconuts:

Have you ever seen a prawn that is as big as the size of my head?!

I love singing this song about being a dingle dangle scarecrow =)

Kite flying at Marina Barrage

Even though Marina Barrage opened more than a year ago, we have never visited it. Today, as the weather was quite good, we decided out of the blue to buy a kite and go kite flying. The kite that I had in Cambridge (which was given to me by Portia) was of Thomas the Tank Engine, while my new kite had many different colours.

Here I am enjoying my kite:

... time with Mummy:

... and Daddy!

I also discovered a wading pool, and had lots of fun splashing around.

Hawaiian dance

For the past few weeks, I have been excitedly practising a dance item for my childcare centre's end-of year concert. While I am not the emcee for my nursery class's performance, I have heard them practise so many times that I know it too. Here is a video of me showing off to Mummy and Daddy:

Mummy and Daddy both took time off from work to attend my concert this afternoon. Here is a photo of me and my dance partner, all decked out in a hawaiian costume.

Rose

Mummy came back from church today with a red rose. When I greeted her at the door, she grinned at me mischievously and asked if I wanted a flower in my hair. Now I can Briar Rose / Princess Aurora!

Braids

I had dinner with Daddy's and Mummy's friends after school today. Daddy and Mummy were deep in coversation and I was feeling rather bored. Auntie Shirlyn was sitting next to me, and she suddenly asked if I wanted to tie my hair. I happily agreed, and quietly sat down while she braided my hair.

Ta da! It's really pretty, isn't it?

Mahjong

Mummy brought me to visit Lao Ma, who would be staying at Edwina Lao Ee's for the next few weeks. I had never been to her house before, and I was curious about the many things that she had. There was a table with many different coloured blocks, and I wanted to play with them. So Mummy taught me how to play baby mahjong, where I had to find the correct numbers and arrange them in order. It was quite fun!

Aurora

I love Disney princesses, especially Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. I've made Daddy read the story to me so many times that I can almost memorise it. Do you like my version of the story?

First lego project

Grandpa and Ah Ma had bought Mummy a Lego set when she was very young, and after Mummy grew up, had lent it to Mummy's cousin to play. Now that Ku Ku Jonathan has also grown up, the lego set is now back with me.

Mummy and I did our first Lego project together today. In fact, Mummy used to make the exact same house when she was little. It took us close to 2 hours today, but it was well worth it.
