We went to Tiong Bahru park today, and as usual, Daddy and Mummy tried to help me overcome my phobia of sand by bringing me to the sand pit. Mummy sat me on her lap, and let my feet dangle just above the sand. Instead of freezing up and screaming to be picked up, I surprised them today. Watch me try and build a sand castle with my empty raisin box.
Daddy and Mummy threw a birthday party for me today. My relatives on Mummy's side came for lunch and they brought me many birthday presents. But Ye Ye and Nai Nai couldn't come though, because they were in Shanghai looking after Di Di (Cousin Matthias). Here is a photo of Grandpa and I taken by Daddy after lunch:
Daddy took some other videos of my party, and he promised that he'll help me to upload them as soon as possible.
In the evening, Daddy's and Mummy's friends and their babies came over to our house to celebrate my birthday. Angelica is on right, while Chloe (who is in the same class as me in school) is on my left. Chloe also came for my birthday party last year, and I think we had a lot of fun playing together.
I made a photoframe at school today to give to Mummy as a Mother's Day present. I was so proud of myself when I was explaining (by gesturing) to Mummy that I made it by printing my little finger and thumb prints on it. I think Mummy was so touched that she almost teared. See the photoframe sitting on Mummy's desk at work, together with other photos of me:
Daddy brought me to Toys R Us today while Mummy was running some errands. Daddy and Mummy both studied civil engineering, so maybe I can follow in their footsteps when I grow up. Do I look like I'm all geared up to visit a construction site?
I have been having a very painful thumb for the past week or so. Daddy and Mummy say that it's because I'm a compulsive thumb-sucker, and that if I don't stop, my thumb will drop off.
Therefore, for the last few nights, I have decided to listen to Daddy and Mummy and tried not to suck my thumb to sleep. The first time I did it was last Saturday (29 April 2008) - Daddy and Mummy says that it's a great achievement, and that they're very proud of me. It took me two whole hours to fall asleep though, as I kept on tossing and turning. I also didn't know what to do with my hands, and I tried many different things - I hugged my bolster, put my hands into my bolster, put my hands into my pillow, wringed my hands, held on to Mr Pooh Bear with both hands, put my hands into my pants, and even held Daddy's and Mummy's hands.
