Hand prints

Mummy and I went for lunch near Daddy's office today, and we decided to stop by his office briefly when we were done. We found a huge poster of hand prints when we got there...



... and I decided to add on mine as well ;)

Mummy's old friends

Mummy's friends from a long time ago had a gathering today, which was just nice timing since we got home only a few days ago. We met at Uncle Wen's and Auntie Shuyin's house, and they brought us up to the rooftop garden on the 50th floor!



We played with bubbles there...



... and I certainly felt like I was on top of the world!

Trip to the zoo

Ah Ma managed to get free tickets to the zoo, so we went there for an outing today. At the zoo, we saw a show about saving the rainforest. There were many men who didn't wear clothes, but I think Daddy is more handsome than any of them!



I also liked the statues that are behind Ah Ma and Grandpa in the photo below. They are so funny because some are short and some are tall.



I wanted to try and ride on the giraffes because they are so tall and they can reach the leaves in the trees.



Lastly, I like the white birds behind me because they can sing and dance like me.

Stocking up

We finally had time to go grocery shopping today. I like the supermarket here better than the Tesco in Cambridge, because I got to buy my favourite Yakult drink.

Saying goodbye

Mummy received a call from Ah Ma yesterday morning, informing us that Lao Ma had been admitted to hospital. We hadn't planned to go back so early, but we decided to rush home as soon as possible. Mummy called the aeroplane office and we were very lucky, as we managed to get tickets for that same evening. The day was a mad rush, with us packing our things and giving away the stuff that we would not be using
We then took a cab to the airport, where I fell asleep because I was so tired.

Just before we boarded the plane, I came across this at the waiting area. I can be a pilot too!

Road trip

When we moved out of our Churchill College flat at the end of July, we left our belongings with Uncle Neil (Mummy's friend) in London. We then went on a road trip within the UK, so that Daddy could drive his nice car one last time before he sold it. Our first stop was to Warwick Castle, but we arrived too late to look for the prince in the castle. Instead we went to the castle gift shop, where I tried out a magic wand.



That first night, we stayed at a hotel near Stratford-upon-Avon, which Mummy says is the home of a famous writer called Shakespeare. There are even bookworms in that place!



We toured the inside of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Courtyard Theatre. Here's a photo of me standing on the stage, holding the red confetti that was used as blood in the previous night's production of Julius Caesar.



Maybe I can be Zoe the Bard when I grow up =)

Our second night was spent in Cardiff in Wales. In Cardiff, we visited the Millennium Stadium. Along the way, Mummy tied me to a post so that I wouldn't run away, haha.

From Cardiff, we drove around in Wales to Tenby, Pembrokeshire. Daddy and I really enjoyed ourselves at the beach, whereas Mummy was absolutely freezing.

During our road trip, I climbed up a lot of places such as Snowdonia and shopping centre in Liverpool.

From Liverpool, we drove on to Lake District. Daddy and Mummy brought me to an aquarium, where I saw prawns, fishes and shells.

Our last stop of our road trip was to York, where we visited a huge catedral called York Minster. On our last day, we drove to Cambridge, where I visited my favourite playground in Churchill College one last time before we headed back to London. It was definitely a great holiday!

Sun Close Farm again

After our last failed attempt at picking strawberries, we went to Sun Close Farm again today. This time, we went with my friends Kitty and Ana from Patacake, where we each picked a big punnet of strawberries and raspberries.



We also pretended to be birds, flying around with our leafy wings!

Daddy's birthday

Daddy had baked Mummy a cake for her birthday last month, and in return, Mummy made Daddy a jelly cake for his birthday today. I like it because it's wobbly wobbly.



Mummy also tried to bake Daddy a proper cake, but it didn't turn out nice, haha. We ended up buying a chocolate fudge cake from Fitzbillies instead, after we ate lunch at the Fitzbillies restaurant.



I had overheard Daddy telling Mummy that he wanted a sports car for his birthday, so here is my gift to Daddy - a spots car!

Lisbon

After spending a few days in Spain, we headed off to Lisbon. We caught an overnight sleeper train (I call it a hotel train), and we arrived at Lisbon nice and early on Thursday morning. We (read: Mummy) spent a lot of time shopping. I have a lot of new clothes and shoes now =) We also went to visit an old castle, but we didn't find a prince nor an evil queen there.



I found some penguin-like sherpherds though, in one of the metro stations.



While Mummy got to shop to her heart's content, Daddy wanted nothing more than to take a ride on the old trams in Lisbon. So we did, haha. We hopped on the tram without knowing where we were going, and when it stopped, we took the tram the other way back. Silly Daddy again =)

Madrid

We are off on yet another holiday! We had crawled out of bed very early, only to discover when we arrived at Luton airport that our Easyjet flight had been delayed by six hours, sigh.



The first thing that we did after we checked into our hotel in Madrid was to head to where the Victory Parade was being held. Spain had just won the World Cup the previous night, and the whole country was celebrating. Many people were dressed in red and yellow, and some were making loud noises with their vuvuzelas.



We were walking around Madrid one day when we found a playground. Like I've done on many of my past holidays, I enjoyed myself on the swing.



Apart from Madrid, we also took a short train ride to this place called Segovia. Daddy, being an engineer at heart, was fascinated by the Roman Aqueduct and wanted to see it close and personal. Silly Daddy =)
