SEA Games

Last week after I got home from school, I asked Daddy and Mummy if we could go to the SEA games. I told them how exciting it sounded, and asked whether we would see dolphins and turtles in the sea. They laughed at me! On then did I find out that SEA didn't refer to the water type of sea - silly me! Daddy and Mummy obliged me though, and we bought tickets to watch the diving finals today. I watched a few people jump off the platform into the water with a splash but after a while, it all got a bit boring. I think I had more fun taking photos outside with the cut-outs of the SEA games mascot :)

School holiday activity

A few weeks ago, Mummy had signed me up in advance for a school holiday badminton camp. At first I thought it was a proper camp where I would have to bring a sleeping bag and stay overnight, but chey, I realised that the 'camp' was just 4 lessons of 2 hours each. Nevertheless, I did enjoy my first lesson today. See me in action!

I am 9 today

Today is my actual birthday, but I was half sad and half happy about it. It is exams period now, and I had a maths exam in school this morning. But I did look forward to Mummy picking me up early in the afternoon, as she took leave from work just for me! During dinner, the restaurant gave us a free sundae because it's my very special day. And naughty Daddy just had to try to steal my ice cream :)

The last thing I did before I went to bed was our usual birthday tradition. Daddy marked out my height to see how much I've grown in the past year. I'm going to be taller than Mummy soon, woohoo!

Birthday party

I woke up all excited today because we are celebrating my birthday at home! I couldn't sleep all night as I was dreaming about my party, where I will see my family, they will buy me presents, and I will have a nice Frozen cake to share with them.

You can see how really excited I was :)

Pre-birthday dinner with friends

Knowing that my birthday was coming up, Mummy decided to ask my friends' mummies if we could meet up. We decided to meet at the airport, where there was much space for us to run about. We would also be able to pick up Daddy from his business trip later at night.

Thank you Mummy for treating us all to dinner at my favourite Thai Express.

Post-It Magic

It's official - my Daddy is a magician with an amazing art brain! A few days ago, he read an article about a guy who had used post-it notes to make Avenger superhero pictures on the office wall. He was very inspired by it, and knowing how much I would be thrilled, he came up with these for me. I love my superhero Daddy!

Art class

Knowing how much that I love art and craft, Mummy had signed me up for an art class. This is my creation from today :)

Bye bye Mr Lee

The news these few days have been about Mr Lee Kuan Yew, our first Prime Minister, being in hospital. Many people had hoped that he would get better and be able to join us for Singapore's 50th birthday celebrations later this year. We had also gone specially to the hospital last night to leave him this card that I had made:

Unfortunately, when I woke up this morning for school, Daddy and Mummy said that he had died overnight. I hope he will go to heaven, where he will continue to watch over us.

In touch with nature

Guess what, we voluntarily woke up very early today, on a Saturday morning. Normally we would have still been in bed, but Mummy had signed us up for a birdwatching tour this morning. I enjoyed using the binoculars to spot different types of colourful birds.

It must also be my lucky day today, as Daddy and I found a four-leave clover as we were walking amongst the nature reserve.

Continuing with the theme of a in-touch-with-nature weekend, we went to Gardens by the Bay too. The downpour was unfortunately, but luckily there were other activities to keep me occupied:

School holiday fun

It is the school holiday week, and Mummy is on leave, woohoo! Although she is more boring than Daddy (and she scolds me more often too), I hope to have some fun with her this week, haha.

On Monday, we went to the Singapore Arts Museum. I was really fascinated with the yarn, and made a pom-pom with it.

In fact I was so fascinated with the yarn that I kept bugging Mummy to buy me more. We looked all day on Tuesday but didn't manage to find the right kind in the shops. Instead, Mummy got me a pack of the colourful strings that are used to make friendship bracelets.

After shopping around, we then went to eat at one of my favourite restaurants. There was a weekday lunch-time offer where we got a free sundae for buying a main course, hehehe.

On Wednesday, we went to watch Cinderella. I wish I had a pair of glass slippers like her.

Yesterday (Thursday), I went for a school camp while Mummy finally got her rest and had some time to herself. Today, Mummy arranged for me to meet up with my primary school friends. After attending a kids computer workshop in the morning, we went jumping at a trampoline park in the afternoon.

The week has gone by so quickly and it certainly was exhausting for me, and I'm sure for Mummy too. I love you Mummy, you can be fun (at times, haha) too!
