Chinese New Year

I woke up feeling very excited yesterday because it's Chinese New Year. It's a time for family to get together, and it's a time where I get to wear new shoes and new clothes. Here's the cheongsam that we had bought from Vietnam when we went on holiday last year:

Here's me with my mummy, my mummy's mummy, and my mummy's mummy's mummy!

Here's my oufit for today, the second day of Chinese New Year:

And here's my cousin Mei Mei Shannon, who normally lives in Shanghai, but is back home here for these few days:

Operation Disinfect

For the past few weeks, my teachers have been teaching my friends and I to wash our hands properly and to practise a song and dance about washing hands. Today, we performed the song and dance at City Square Mall, and Ah Ma, Grandpa and Lao Ee Edwina came to watch me.

As a reward for our hard work and good dancing, my friends and I each got a cute toy. I like my duck, so soft and cuddly.

Some people even wanted to interview me after the performance! But I only wanted to play with my best friend Celest, and didn't really pay attention to them, haha.

Desaru

Mummy found a good travel deal, so she invited both sets of my grandparents to join us in a short day trip to Desaru. We went to a fruit and vegetable farm. I couldn't see what the tour guide was pointing to at some parts, so I made Daddy carry me very high on his shoulders.

Knowing how much I like Princess Aurora (also known as Sleeping Beauty), Mummy was so excited when she found a sleeping beauty pineapple! She thought I would be very happy to see it, and made me take a photo with it:

We also went to an ostrich farm. I saw an ostrich that was one day old. I also tried to feed vegetables to the ostriches, and I was very very scared. Grandpa bought an empty ostrich egg shell to bring home, and Ye Ye bought ostrich satay for all of us to eat. Yummy!

Visit to the museums

There was free entry to all the museums today, and we took the chance to visit two of them. The first one that we visited was the Singapore Arts Museum, where there was a exhibition called Singirl. We even saw the artist (Amanda Heng) there and I took a photo with her.

On our way to the next museum, we came across many colourful elephants!

The next museum that we went to was the National Museum, where there was an exhibition called Dreams and Reality, featuring works from the Musée d’Orsay, Paris. We went specially to see a painting by Van Gogh, from his Starry Night series. We even left the museum with a 1000-piece jigsaw of his painting. Yay, once it's completed, it can join the other Starry Night jigsaw painting on our wall at home! Daddy and Mummy had put together the last one even before I was born, and this time I can help them.

Omni-theatre and Sentosa

Wanting to make the most of this long weekend, we went to two different places today. In the afternoon, we went to Omni-theater to watch a dinosaur movie. It was my first time there, but Daddy and Mummy had been there before.

As we were waiting for the show to start, we went to the playground at the Kinetic Garden in the Science Centre. I had a lot of fun there with Daddy and Mummy even though I got bitten by many mosquitoes.

In the evening, we went to Sentosa for dinner and to see the huge Christmas tree. I also saw Snow White and her prince:

As well as Alice in Wonderland:

Woohoo, it's Christmas!

Christmas started early with Mummy and I going for a midnight mass. Mummy said I was amazing because I kept awake and (quite) quiet throughout. Daddy and Mummy said I was even more amazing when we all stayed up until almost 4am to watch a DVD at home after that.

By the time we woke up, it was almost noon on Christmas Day. We ate lunch then had an afternoon nap before we went to Maggie Lao Ee's house for our usual Chrismas dinner. I ate dinner very quickly as I wanted to get to my presents.

Here's my haul this year! I got a pillow book from Daddy and Mummy, a Hi-5 trolly bag and colour pencils from Ah Ma and Grandpa, a scooter from Jason Ku Ku, a baby umbrella from Ee Ee Rachel, a rabbit soft toy from Maggie Lao Ee and Lao Ku Michael, as well as dresses from Lao Ees Edwina and Eugenia, and Lao Ku Steven.

Ku Ku Edgar also bought me a polar bear snow globe to add to my zoo collection. I now have two from Ku Ku (including the giraffes that he had bought me from London), and one each from Daddy and Mummy from Canada and Hong Kong respectively.

Christmas eve

Yay, today's the start of a long Christmas weekend and I can't wait for tomorrow to come so that I can open all my presents! I hope it doesn't rain as much tomorrow as it did today, although I suppose I did have some fun in the rain.

We went out to Suntec City for dinner this evening, where we coincidentally bumped into Grandpa, Ah Ma and Edwna Lao Ee. There was a huge gingerbread house at Suntec City that made Mummy go waaaaaah.

You see, Mummy really likes gingerbread houses. Which is why Daddy had bought this for her a Christmas present:

Yamaha friends

Today's my last Yamaha class for the year before we break for Christmas and New Year. Because we have all been good children the whole year, my teacher gave each of us a Christmas present. Till next year everyone!

Gingerbread girl

Mummy went out for an outing with her office friends today. When she came to pick me up, she handed me a gingerbread girl that her boss had bought for me. Look, almost all gone! None for Mummy and Daddy, haha.

O' Christmas trees

There's a Christmas tree in my school! I like Christmas trees and I like Christmas because it means that I'll get many many presents.

There was also a Christmas tree at the shopping centre that we went to over the weekend. That was a really huge tree though, much much taller than me.
