Birthday party

One of my classmates invited a few of us to celebrate her first double-digit birthday. We had a lot of fun, playing games and making a terrarium.

I can't believe that I'm going to be 10 years old soon. Can't wait for my own birthday! Maybe I should hint really loudly to Daddy and Mummy that I really wish we could have a fun party, haha.

Easter vigil

Mummy and I spent the evening in church for Easter Vigil. I know it's supposed to be a holy and blessed occasion, so I better not say too loud that the best part for me was only the candles :)

Hee!

Mummy and I are quite mischievous when Daddy can't join us for dinner, as we make it a point to explore places that he doesn't like to go. Today we picked Kenny Rogers - what's not to love about mac&cheese, corn on the cob and corn muffins :)

Highlight of the week

Daddy suddenly surprised us by booking a staycation for tonight! He called Mummy in the afternoon and asked her to pack our things. I jumped with joy when I heard - We are staying in a hotel at Sentosa, and are going to have a great day of fun at Adventure Cove tomorrow!

We were given a ground-floor room in the hotel, with an awesome view of the peacocks. I have never seen one so close up with its tail spread out - it must indeed be my lucky day, haha!

School is out

It's the start of the March school holidays! I'm so happy that there is no school and no homework for a week.

Mummy has been working really hard the past few weeks, and I'm glad that she took leave this week to spend time with me. Today, Mummy brought me out to meet Ashley for a buffet lunch and to watch a movie. This is the only photo that we took of today's outing, when we stopped for a short while outside the arcade. I'm looking forward to a few more fun days ahead!

Foodie

I'm sure that I've inherited my sweet tooth from Mummy. Mummy will probably also turn me into a foodie (of junk and snacks)!

Mummy knew that this super-large chocolate chip cookie from Pizza Hut would make me grin like crazy:

Mummy also knows that bringing me to Sakae Sushi would please me greatly too. I love the fried tofu while Mummy likes the chawanmushi, We often take the opportunity to eat at Sakae when Daddy is busy and can't have dinner with us. Like tonight ;)

And today, we discovered yet one more reason to eat at Sakae. It was fascinating when I found out that molten chocolate hardens into a shell when I dipped the ice cream into the pot. And when the melted ice cream is heated in the pot, it becomes nice and crunchy and super sweet. Mummy and I definitely stuffed ourselves tonight, burrrp!

Random doodling

I drew this when I was bored one afternoon. Nice, right?

Memorable bits of CNY 2016

Chinese New Year is my most favourite festival and public holiday. I get to eat as many snacks as I want. I get to play with my cousins and my uncles and aunties. I also get many angbaos that Daddy and Mummy says I can save up to use when I am old.

This year, some of my most favourite parts of Chinese New Year are:

1. The cute little Frozen Fever soft toy that Mei Mei gave me:

2. Playing monopoly with my family:

3. Playing with and cuddling the cute little doggie who belongs to one of Mummy's distant cousins. Mummy hasn't seen this set of cousins for many many years, and it is also my first time visiting Lao Ma's youngest sister during Chinese New Year.

I can't wait for Chinese New Year to come again next year!

Helping out

Daddy, Mummy and I recently started volunteering with a group that provides lunch on Saturday for elderly persons living in the rental flats near our house. We also give some groceries to them, as well as deliver the groceries to the homes of those who are unable to join us for lunch. Mei Mei Shannon joined us today, and the two of us happily handed out items to the uncles and aunties.

Buffet at last

I have been wanting to eat at a buffet for the longest time, but Daddy and Mummy say that it's not worthwhile to bring me as I eat like a bird. But I got lucky this evening! Mummy had a one-for-one buffet offer that would expire at the end of this month. So when Daddy said that he had to work late, Mummy and I grinned at each other and we jumped with joy into the car and drove to the buffet place. The first thing I did was to head to the dessert counter and drool over the amazing range of marshmallows, gummy sweets and ice cream. I was certainly in dessert heaven! As part of the deal, I had promised Mummy I would eat some proper food first, so here I am, all eager.

Boxing

We went out for dinner with one of Daddy's colleague who used to work in McDonald's. Naturally we went to a place that serves burgers, haha. The burgers must be very nutritious, for the people who eat there seem to be boxers. Like me!

New favourite place

Daddy and Mummy have been thinking about changing our current car, and we have been to a few showrooms over the past weekend. This is currently my new favourite place - I get to make my own Milo and hot chocolate!

Happy New Eyes

It's a lazy new year's eve, and we're lazing at home. Suddenly a thought crossed my mind and I ran to my room. Happy New Eyes everyone!

Families for Life event

Mummy signed us up for a Families for Life event today, since it was a nice long weekend and we had plenty of time on our hands. I enjoyed the popcorn the most. I played a little on the bouncy castle too, but I think I'm too big for it. Better get off in case I squash it :)

Christmas!

I love Christmas! It's the celebration that I love second-best after Chinese New Year. Here's the cheery breakfast that Mummy made when we woke up:

I had received this present from my friend Zoe and couldn't wait to play with Ee Ee Rachael today. Ta-da, here's our masterpiece:

Dinner was very festive too. Mummy says that this jelly mould has been in use for many many years, and she remembered it from the time she was a young girl like me. It's like a family heirloom:

The best part of the day was definitely the presents. Thanks to all my family who love me!

Playground

Today was a lazy Sunday with nothing much to do. So I badgered Daddy and Mummy to bring me to the park to play. Love them both!

Christmas party

Lao Ee Edwina had invited us to her place for a Christmas party, and I was eagerly looking forward to it today. And it was amazing! The popcorn, ice cream, cotton candy.

There was also a pretty lady who painted a tattoo for me. I had asked for an angel, and the angel looks like me :)

Sleepovers and zoo visits

Mummy and Daddy were very sweet to let my kindergarten friends sleep over at our house last night. We had a lot of fun as usual, didn't sleep until very late and woke up extremely early, haha.

I definitely had a lot of fun the whole day today. After the sleepover, we went to the zoo. Although I've been to the zoo many times, this was probably the best visit because Mummy had brought my friend Ashley along as well, and the two of us girls were happily chattering away all day. There was a small sad part though, when we saw the farewell party for the koalas as they are leaving the Singapore Zoo soon. Goodbye Koala Chan!

Snow party

Mummy and I made last-minute plans for dinner with Mummy's colleague and her daughter who's also called Zoe. We were very excited as there was supposed to be a snow party for kids. Although the snow turned out to be more like soap foam, the other Zoe and I still laughed like crazy while we were playing. After we had worked off our energy, we ended the evening with a huge skillet chocolate chip cookie. Awesome!

Bondi Beach and Sydney Sights

Time has passed so quickly when I'm having fun. We spent some time at Bondi Beach yesterday, where our apartment is near. Daddy is quite badly sunburned on his neck and arms, whereas I only have a cute sunburned nose, haha. We went to the beach again super early this morning, as crazy Mummy wanted us to catch the sun rise. I must say that the pre-dawn view of Bondi Beach is very nice and tranquil as well.

Daddy decided to be sane and convinced us to go back to bed after the sunrise. After our morning nap, we headed into Sydney city centre, where Mummy had plans for how we would spend our day. We took the ferry ride that Daddy had been eager to try, where we sailed under Sydney Harbour Bridge. I look cool in Daddy's shades, don't I?

For lunch, we ate at a riverside cafe with views of the bridge and the opera house. With our tummies satisfied, we headed to the playground at Darling Quarter, where Mummy and I played on the swings. We then allowed Mummy to indulge in a shopping spree at Paddy's Market, where Mummy came across a unique stall selling something that was like the water babies toy that I have been talking so much about. And being the lovely Mummy that she is, of course she bought me some. After dinner, we rouded off our last night in Sydney with a fireworks display at Darling Habour. The fireworks were beautiful as they were dancing to the tune of the Christmas carols that were playing at the same time. Thumbs up for Mummy for a great day!
